What If My Elderly Parent Needs a Prescription Refill?

First, check the bottle (60 seconds)
- Medication name & strength (e.g., “losartan 50 mg”)
- Sig/directions (e.g., “1 tablet daily”)
- Prescriber name
- Pharmacy name & phone
- Refills remaining and last fill date
If refills remain
Call or tap “refill” in the pharmacy app. Ask for synchronization so monthly meds refill together.
If no refills or the prescription expired
Choose one:
- Message the clinic through the patient portal (attach a photo of the bottle).
